London Project - The Old School House

This was an exciting project we took on in a repurposed school in Brixton, London.

Our clients had a lovely apartment within the building and wanted to completely remodel their main bathroom, living area and kitchen.

The bathroom had some gorgeous architectural features and a beautiful roll top bath but these weren't being used to their full potential. We introduced some statement wallpaper that accented the original wood beams and painted the bath a striking navy that tied in with the new vanity unit we designed. A simple, traditional black and white tile on the floor was used as a nod to the period building.

In the living area, the homeowners wanted to completely streamline the look of the space - both in terms of design and colour. We designed a new unit for the TV wall that created hidden storage with low level drawers and allowed the area above to be decorative, featuring statement wall lights and shelves for display.

A rug and sofa in bold primary colours were used to create some impact and interest in the room

The kitchen was designed in conjunction with the storage so that the finishes mirrored each other, creating a link between the two areas. Seamless carrara quartz was used for the kitchen splashback and worktop to create a luxurious, minimal look.

CLIENT REVIEW

We came to Dust when our house sale had fallen through, and given how difficult the housing market was we had decided to make some home improvements instead - we realised a few areas were really terrible: the bathroom was cold, dark and damp, the kitchen dated and cluttered, we had a horrible sofa and felt our units in the livingroom were always messy.

We had no idea where to start but wanted our house to look much better. Dust were amazing to work with from start to finish, there was a clear and easy process to follow, we uploaded pictures of the rooms to pinterest boards, had a phone consultation with Lisa and then she started producing boards and drawings, always making helpful recommendations and making everything just look so stunning. We literally loved everything she sent us. We had a few conversations on the phone, but all the rest of our conversations were on email and whatsapp which worked brilliantly. And it was so fun!

We are so incredibly happy with the end result that we have decided to stay for the time being. I recommend Dust in a heartbeat.
Thank you so much
