Newtown Little Project

This project was Lisa's own home.

The brief was for a complete redecoration on a tight a budget as a full renovation will be done in a few years so it needed to be inexpensive, cosmetic changes.

The house was fully white when we started and Lisa wanted to inject lots of colour and a fun, glam rock vibe into it.

Dramatic dark blue and a Bowie inspired wallpaper from our own collection was used in the hallway. With the lightning bolt motif carried through the house in the art we used.

Strong primary, colours were used in the art in the hallway.

In the rest of the house, a variety of softer colours were used to contrast with the entrance and stairs. Blue/green in the dining and living room, pink in the adult bedrooms and soft yellows and blues in the children's rooms.

A pale pink velvet wall covering was used in the master bedroom to cover the ceiling and back wall to create a feeling of being cocooned.

Mountains were painted on the walls in one of the children's rooms as an inexpensive way of creating a fun space.

A mixture of old and new furniture was layered throughout the house. Lisa's childhood dining table was mixed with modern, mid century style bucket chairs.

In the living room, a replica of a mid century Murano glass chandelier was mixed with a mid century record unit and a modern chair.
